Weavers Triangle
The Weavers Triangle Heritage Project valued at £1million involved stabilising the Grade 2 Listed mill complex. This was funded by Heritage Lottery Fund & NWDA for Burnley Borough Council & English Heritage.
Extensive roof works, temporary propping and structural works were performed to save the complex from collapse. As some parts of the buildings were in a dangerous state Dales worked closely with Structural Engineers and the HSE to agree a safe programme of works. During the project Dale staff completed training to become Temporary Works Coordinators.
Traditional skills used included lime mortar pointing, traditional stone masonry replacing damaged and perished stonework, timber joist/roof repairs, complete roof structure and slate replacement, extensive leadwork and chimney repairs, during the project staff were assessed for the NVQ 3 CSCS Heritage Skills Award.
Featured on BBC and the site was visited by Prince Charles late October 2011.
